Love wisdom. Life is not a game.

Dear friend,

I once watched my youngest daughter advise my eldest how best to overcome obstacles and defeat enemies while completing levels of a computer game. And her advice greatly helped the older one to pass the levels of the game, avoiding the suddenly appearing dangers. Thanks to the advice of the youngest daughter, the eldest managed to defeat the most difficult enemies and correctly navigate the most intricate levels of the game. The game was accompanied by very loud and emotional exclamations. The daughters had a lot of delight!

Why was the advice of the youngest daughter so effective? How could she guide her older sister so well?
The answer is very simple – she had repeatedly passed through these game levels before and therefore knew what to expect in each specific location and how to overcome each obstacle. I knew that when passing the levels of the game, the youngest daughter used Youtube channels dedicated to the passage of this computer game, and there she found tips to overcome obstacles.

Life is different from a computer game, although it also has its own levels to be overcome and enemies to be defeated. First of all, real life differs from the game in that it lacks the ability to return to the previous ‘save point’ and start all over again. Real life does not forgive mistakes and, more often than not, does not give a chance to return missed opportunities. In real life, there are real tragedies and losses that cannot be ‘rolled back’. In real life, we really lose people close to us. Life is not a game.

How much more valuable in real life, in contrast to a computer game, is the help and advice of a person who has already advanced far in his life and has seen a lot!

Young people who have been brought up by experienced and wise parents or mentors have a huge advantage in life. They play the same role in the lives of young people as my youngest daughter did when she helped her eldest to go through the levels of a computer game. They have already ‘passed’ various ‘locations’ of life, learned a lot, seen and experienced. They have been everywhere already, so they can prepare young people to overcome living standards. More importantly, wise experienced parents or mentors can teach you about the dangers in life and how to avoid and not be harmed by them.

I have a number of examples of people with whom our life paths crossed. From childhood they were brought up in prosperous families or they had a wise and experienced mentor in their childhood.
And they manage to successfully pass the ‘levels’ of life and avoid dangers. And all these people have a fairly well-arranged life, at least compared to the average level.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs 1:7).

The Bible affirms the idea – unwillingness to adopt the experience of elders is a sign of foolishness. Unwillingness to know the laws by which life is arranged is a direct path to disaster.

Therefore, it is very vital for young people to overcome the barrier between ‘fathers’ and ‘children’ in order to receive valuable life information from ‘fathers’.

It is very sad that there are young people who are abandoned by almost everyone. They are orphans. Their example shows that the absence of a wise and experienced mentor in childhood and adolescence is very destructive:
“Statistics are scary. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, 40 percent of graduates of orphanages become alcoholics and drug addicts, another 40 percent commit crimes.
Some of the children themselves become victims of crime, and 10 percent commit suicide. And only 10 percent succeed, having gone beyond the threshold of an orphanage or boarding school, to get on their feet and establish a normal life”.

First of all, the parents of a young man or girl are called to become such mentors. But unfortunately, for various reasons, not all young people have wise and experienced parents or mentors who are involved in their upbringing.
This site is intended to fill the need for such young people in access to information about what ‘levels and locations’ are in life, what dangers can be encountered and how to succeed in real life.

Therefore, we, the team of the website ‘With Sanity’, invite you, dear friend, to continue your exciting journey in search of life’s wisdom, which we will draw from God’s word – the Bible!
